Average Earnings Provision - Advanced
Advanced inputs control compensation-limit treatment, final-date adjustments, and less common earnings-period construction.
- Application of Limits under EGTRA: Determines whether the new or old compensation limit applies to pre-2002 earnings. The retroactive new-limit treatment is the default.
- Determine highest averaging periods using unlimited amounts: Uses earnings before compensation limits when selecting the highest units; applicable limits are still reflected in the resulting average.
- Use pre-OBRA 93 governmental plan limits: Applies the governmental-plan compensation-limit treatment that predates OBRA 1993.
- Final Termination Date: Adjusts the date used as the end of the averaging period by a Formula Derived Item or unit of time.
- Build periods starting on provision Effective Date day of week (weekly/bi-weekly periods): Aligns weekly and biweekly units to the weekday of the provision effective date instead of the standard Sunday-to-Saturday week.
- Allow single-day periods: Retains an earnings unit whose start and end dates are the same.
