Portal Security Overview

When using the PensionSoft Secure Pension Portal it may be necessary to create additional administrators and sponsor contacts. Generating the logins for these users can only be done through the Internet portal.

How to create administrator logins

Once you have logged into mypensionbenefit.com as a portal Administrator, navigate to Administrator Security by clicking the main button on the Home page. On the Administrator Security page, you should see a list of all DBP logins associated with your company. Note: only DB Precision System Administrators can create logins for other System Users.

By clicking on a row for a user, a small window will appear that will allow you to generate a User ID and temporary password for that user.

For any user already created, clicking a user row will provide the option to remove the login or reset the password. If the user has been locked out of the portal, a lock icon will appear on that user's row and the window will have the option to unlock the account.

Please note that if, after creating an Administrator login, that user cannot access a Sponsor, verify that the user has been assigned to the Sponsor in DB Precision through the Sponsor Basic Information window by double clicking the sponsor name after opening that sponsor in DB Precision.

How to create sponsor contact logins

To create a Sponsor Contact login, you must first verify that they have been added as a Sponsor Contact in DB Precision. If not, open the Sponsor in DB Precision and then right-click on Sponsor Contacts and select the Add option. A user ID will be generated automatically by DBP. If you wish to rename the User you may right click and select rename. Note that all Sponsor Contact Logins must be six characters. Information regarding the use of each section of the Sponsor Contact detail can be found here or by clicking the question mark icon within the window.

Once you have created the Sponsor Contact in DB Precision, that contact can then be given a portal login. To do this, log in to the portal as an Administrator, open the Sponsor in the portal, select the sponsor that you would like to create Sponsor Contact Login for, and then press Sponsor Security.

By clicking a Sponsor user ID, a window will appear in the middle of your browser allowing you to generate a User ID and temporary password.

For any sponsor contact user already created, clicking a user row will provide the option to remove the login or reset the password. If the user has been locked out of the portal, a lock icon will appear on that user's row and the window will have the option to unlock the account.

How to create participant logins

In general, participant logins are created by creating registration codes and providing them to participants. Each participant then uses this code along with other personal information entered on the portal's registration screen to create their own login.

  • Creating Multiple Registration Codes: creating multiple registration codes at once must be done using DB Precision. To do this, go to the Tools tab and select Manage Portal Security. Pressing the blue Fill button will create a registration code for any eligible participant that does not already have a code or login. Once generated, the new codes will be displayed on this screen. Pressing the File button will put this information into a file for sending codes to participants.
  • Creating a Registration Code for One Participant: log in to the Portal and open the sponsor containing the participant. Press the Participant Security button on the Portal menu, and then press the button for the participant's last initial. Find the participant and click their row to open the registration window. Press the Create button next to Registration to generate the code.
  • Creating a User ID and Password: this should generally be done only for sample participants because sending a user ID and password to a participant is not considered a security best practice. Follow the steps above for creating one registration code, but press the Create button next to User ID instead of Registration.
Sponsor contact access rights

Some Sponsor Contacts may need different rules when accessing the internet portal this can be done through DBP by double clicking on the sponsor contact within the sponsor.

  • Worktrack Access: specify whether the selected sponsor contact should be notified when a task is created or completed. You may also give the user the ability to cancel tasks or put them on hold.
  • Limited Participant Access: specify whether access should be limited for that contact to a particular group based on a group-code reported amount.
