DBPXL comes pre-loaded with the most commonly used mortality and projection scale tables. However, you have the ability to add, edit, and delete mortality tables.
Please note that no two-dimensional projection tables are shown here but rather are built into the Add-in.
- View/Edit: to view or edit an existing mortality or projection table, double-click the corresponding item within the list.
- Add: to add a new mortality or projection table, press the Add button.
- Delete: to delete an existing mortality or projection table, select the corresponding item and press the Delete button.
Once you double-click on an item in the list described above, you will be brought to the Table Detail screen which allows you to view details on the selected table:
- Name: this is the name of the mortality or projection table. It may not contain any spaces or match the name of another existing table.
- Description: space to provide a description of the table (for reference purposes).
- Study Year: the year that the study was conducted. For mortality tables that are then projected to another year, this value is used to determine the base year for the projection.
- Rates Type: choose from Mortality Rates or Projection Rates to indicate whether the table is a mortality or projection table.
- Unisex Indicator: check this box to indicate whether the rates are unisex (same for male or female) or sex distinct (separate rates for male or female).
- Annual Rates by Age: grid showing rates by age and gender (if sex distinct rates are used).
