PensionSoft's DBPXL Formula Writer allows users to write Covered Compensation formulas in Excel using a user-friendly interface. By clicking OK on this screen, a formula is placed into the currently selected cell in your workbook.
- Year of Birth: enter the year of birth as a four-digit year.
- Calculation Year: enter the calculation year as a four-digit year.
- Type of Rounding: select from the following choices:
- Next-lowest $12 (standard)
- Nearest $600
- Nearest $3,000
- Unrounded
- Calculation Type: select from the following choices:
- Post-TRA (standard): calculates average to the year of Social Security Retirement Age.
- Pre-TRA: calculates average to Age 65.
- Transitional: calculates average to the year before Social Security Retirement Age.
- Age Lookup Type: select from the following:
- Year of Birth (standard): lookup amount using the year of birth.
- SSRA: lookup amount using Social Security Retirement Age.
- Fixed Age: lookup amount using other fixed ages (the writer will pre-fill as age 65 but this can be changed).
- Projection (optional): enter as a rate (0.01 for 1% for example).
