Formula Derived Items for Valuation

The Formula Derived Item Advanced screen includes optional settings for component-based attribution and valuation date handling.

Actuarial valuation settings

Benefit Base (optional) — Used only with Accrual Proration - Components. It identifies the base portion of the Formula Derived Item so UC or PUC can re-evaluate that base at the applicable date while preserving the item’s implied rate.

If this field is blank, the Formula Derived Item is evaluated directly at the applicable date.

Unit Credit Liabilities — No dates may go past valuation date — Caps the Formula Derived Item’s calculation date and payment start date at the applicable UC measurement date.

Unit Credit Liabilities — Calculation date extends beyond valuation date — Allows the Formula Derived Item’s calculation date and payment start date to extend to the future date requested by UC component attribution.

Do not allow calculation date or payment start date to go past Valuation Date when determining Vested Benefit Obligation (VBO) — Caps those dates at the valuation date while calculating VBO.

Round all dates within formula to nearest birthday when running valuations — Applies nearest-birthday date handling to dates evaluated within the Formula Derived Item during a valuation.
