Select the participant data, plan coding, funding assumptions, and accounting assumptions used to produce a saved valuation result.
Plan valuation — Calculates the selected population and produces plan totals, participant status listings, and aggregate benefit-by-year detail.
Participant valuation — Calculates one participant from the selected capture and provides factor-level calculation detail.
Use this scope when benefit, probability, payment-form, and discount detail is required for one person; a participant row in plan output does not open the full individual calculation.
A Database Capture preserves the sponsor participant population used for the valuation. It holds that population constant while plan coding or assumptions are reviewed; plan benefit coding and Sponsor Assumptions remain separately selected inputs.
Create a new capture after participant status, dates, earnings, service, benefits, contributions, beneficiary data, or grouping fields change. Reuse the same capture for a controlled comparison in which only plan coding or assumptions change.
Select at least one funding or accounting assumption. Every selected assumption definition must have a provision effective on or before the Valuation Date.
Plan Number — Selects the plan document whose definitions and benefit coding are valued.
Valuation Date — Sets the measurement date for age, service, participant data, and effective-dated plan and assumption provisions.
Database Capture — Selects the saved participant data used by the calculation.
Plan Definition — Selects the Valuation Definition containing the applicable benefit items and attribution settings.
Missing Data Definition — Selects optional substitution rules for required participant data that is missing.
Funding Assumptions — Selects the assumption definition used for funding results and, when applicable, Tax-Max and PBGC.
Accounting Assumptions — Selects the assumption definition used for accounting results.
- Open Manage Valuations from the intended scope. Open it from the plan for population results or from the participant for individual detail.
- Select Add. Enter a unique Description and complete the required inputs.
- Confirm the measurement date. Check that the selected capture and every effective-dated provision correspond to the Valuation Date.
- Select the calculation bases. Choose funding, accounting, or both.
- View the saved valuation. Existing inputs are shown but cannot be changed.
- Select Create new valuation results. Confirm the rerun to calculate the same saved setup again.
- Review the replacement result. The rerun replaces the prior saved result and does not preserve the old result as another version. Use Add and a new Description when the prior result must be retained.
A valuation group saves a set of completed valuations for one collective view. It adds their numeric results without rerunning them or validating that their populations, dates, definitions, and assumption bases are compatible.
- Name the group. Use a sponsor-wide name that describes the compatible results being combined. Keep valuation names unique and do not use a tilde (~) in a grouped valuation name.
- Select the member valuations. Save the selected rows to the group.
- Recall the group. Selecting its name reselects the saved members in the visible list.
- Select View. DB Precision adds the members' numeric results into one collective output. Confirm first that the members are intended to form one total.
