System Administrators
Overview
A System Administrator in DB Precision is a special type of System User. A System Administrator has elevated rights and it is recommended that each network have at least 2 such System Users. A System User can be made into a System Administrator by checking the System Administrator check box on the Standard Rights Screen.
Special rights of system administrators
A System Administrator has the following additional rights (beyond that of a standard System User):

  • Ability to Add and Delete System Users and Groups: A System Administrator is the only type of user that can add or delete a System User or User Group.
  • Access to System Settings: Only a System Administrator can view and edit system-level settings.
  • Unlock Locked Valuation Snapshots: When a System User has locked a valuation snapshot (so that it cannot be accidentally overwritten), only a System Administrator can then unlock it.
  • New Version Approval: With access to the System Settings screen, only a System Administrator can approve a new version of DB Precision (assumes automatic updates and the usage of maximum versions).
