DB Precision Interface Overview
Document tabs

As items are opened, they will appear in their own tabs in the Document Tabs section. Multiple tabs can be opened and they can then be closed by clicking on the "x" at the top of each tab. See the Home ribbon commands for other workspace and tab-management commands.

Item explorer

Item Explorer displays all items associated in the system with the currently displayed tab. This includes items such as the Plan Sponsor, Plan Documents, Persons, and Person Worksheets. Additional items can be opened by double-clicking on them in Item Explorer.

Item Explorer contains two sections, the upper pane and the lower pane. The lower pane displays a list of Persons, which can be filtered based on status by clicking a particular status tree branch under Persons in the upper pane. Status is updated based on the most recent valuation. To display all Persons associated with the Sponsor, click the main Persons tree branch.

If an item is selected in Item Explorer and you begin to type, the first item that starts with the typed text will be highlighted within the same pane as the initial selection. This allows the user to search for items to open by Item or Person name or SSN. To search by SSN, do not use dashes; when searching by name, do not use commas or spaces.

Buttons at the top allow Users to do the following:

  • New Person: launches the New Person Wizard, which can be used to create a new Person for the active Plan Sponsor.
  • Delete: deletes the item selected in Item Explorer.
  • Properties: gets properties of the selected Item Explorer item.
  • Refresh: refreshes the display of items in Item Explorer.
  • Swap Name/SSN: switches whether the people in the lower pane are sorted by name or SSN.
Output window

The Output Window displays the progress of longer-running system tasks such as snapshots and shows results from a Find operation. It includes the following tabs:

  • Output: shows the progress of longer-running processes.
  • Find Results: shows results from a Find operation.
