This page covers the family of detail screens opened by the
- Varies by Reported Amount: selects a Sponsor Reported Amount and associates each configured participant value with a mortality selection or decrement table.
- Varies by years from valuation: associates each projection duration with a mortality selection or decrement table. A value of zero represents the valuation year, one represents the following valuation year, and so forth.
- Varies by year: associates each calendar year with a mortality selection or decrement table.
The Configure button on the Mortality tab can create variations for each of the following populations:
- Active: mortality while an active participant remains exposed to active decrements.
- Terminated / Pre-payment Start: participant mortality after termination and before retirement payments begin.
- Disabled / Pre-payment Start: participant mortality after disability and before disability payments begin.
- Disabled / Post-payment Start: participant mortality after disability payments begin.
- Retired (Including Terminated): post-payment mortality for retired participants, including terminated participants whose payments have begun.
- Survivor / Pre-payment Start: survivor mortality before survivor payments begin.
- Survivor / Post-payment Start: survivor mortality after survivor payments begin.
- Lump Sum: mortality used for applicable life-contingent lump-sum forms.
Each mortality variation row opens Valuation Mortality, where the male and female base tables, table columns, age adjustments, projection tables, projection types, projection years, and blend fractions are defined. A
The Configure buttons on the Decrements tab create variations for four assumption categories:
- Retirement Probabilities: assigns a different sponsor Retirement Age Probability Table to each configured value or year.
- Termination Probabilities: assigns a different system Termination Probabilities table to each configured value or year.
- Post-termination Retirement Probabilities: assigns a different sponsor Retirement Age Probability Table to each configured value or year.
- Disability Probabilities: assigns a different system Disability Probabilities table to each configured value or year.
The direct options—such as 100% at a fixed age, one selected table, None, or Same as probabilities for active employees—do not use these variation screens.
- Amount Name: selects the Sponsor Reported Amount that controls a reported-amount variation. This item appears only for
Varies by Reported Amount . - Values: lists all configured variation rows. Mortality lists show the value or year and a description of the mortality selection; decrement lists show the value or year and the selected table.
- Reported Amount Value: identifies the participant value associated with the row. Each value in the list must be unique.
- Year: identifies either a duration from the valuation date or a calendar year, according to the variation method selected on the parent tab. Each year value in the list must be unique.
- Table Name: selects the table used by a decrement variation row. The available table type is determined by whether the row configures retirement, termination, post-termination retirement, or disability.
- Mortality Description: summarizes the male and female mortality settings saved for a mortality variation row.
- Add (+): creates a new value or year row. Complete the row-specific mortality or table selection before saving it.
- Delete (−): removes the selected variation row.
- Open a row: double-click an existing row to review or change its driver value and assumption selection.
