Network Client Installation Steps
Once you have set up the Database Server, and all of the prerequisites for DB Precision have been installed on each Network Client machine, then proceed with the following steps on each Network Client:

  • 1) Install DB Precision: run setup64.msi (or setup32.msi for 32-bit installations) provided to you by PensionSoft. Please make sure that you use the appropriate install program (32-bit or 64-bit) based upon which version of Windows is installed on the client machine.
  • 2) First Time Opening: the first time that you open DB Precision after installation, you will be asked to provide the full database server name (including instance name), User Account Password (from the Database Server Installation topic), and which SQL Server Version is installed on the Database Server.
  • 3) User ID and Password: if this is the first Network Client being installed and you have not yet set up any users on DB Precision, then log in using a User ID of ADMIN1 and admin for password.
  • 4) Configure DB Precision Settings: when installing on the first DB Precision Network Client, do the following (this will not need to be done for the second or subsequent Network Client installations). Select System - System Settings from the main ribbon in DB Precision. For Production Server Name, enter the full name of the database server (including instance name).

Once you have completed the Network Client installation for each machine that will be running DB Precision, you should begin to setup DB Precision Users.
