The top of the DB Precision screen contains the Ribbon which includes the File menu and several tabs:

• File Menu: this menu includes items such as Open and Save.
• Home Tab: this tab is a toolbar which contains many common operations such as Copy/Paste and Rename.
• Data Tab: contains tasks related to data such as Import and Backup.
• Valuation Tab: contains tasks generally used when completing valuation data work such as Snapshot and Lifecount Reconciliation.
• Tables Tab: allows users to see public tables such as mortality tables and PPA segment rates.
• Tools Tab: navigates to advanced features, such as portal settings and worktrack items.
• System Tab: includes less commonly used tasks such as license administration and system/user settings.

As items are opened, they will appear in their own tabs in the Document Tabs section. Multiple tabs can be opened and they can then be closed by clicking on the 'x" on the top of each tab.

Item Explorer displays all items associated in the system with the currently displayed tab. This includes items such as the Plan Sponsor, Plan Documents, People, and Person Worksheets. Additional items can be opened by double-clicking on them in Item Explorer.

If an item is selected in Item Explorer and you begin to type, you can choose different items based upon what you type. This is particularly useful if trying to find somebody by name or SSN.

In addition, there are buttons at the top that allow Users to do the following:

• New Person: launches the New Person Wizard which can be used to create a new Person for the active Plan Sponsor.
• Delete: deletes the item that is selected in Item Explorer.
• Properties: gets properties of the selected Item Explorer item.
• Refresh: refreshes the display of items in Item Explorer.
• Group/Ungroup People: toggles the people displayed in Item Explorer between being grouped or ungrouped by the latest valuation status.
• Sort By Name/SSN: toggles the sort order of people displayed in Item Explorer between being sorted by SSN and last name.

The Output Window displays the progress of longer-running system tasks such as snapshots as well as shows the results from a Find operation. The Output Window includes the following tabs:

• Output: show progress of longer-running processes.
• Find Results: shows search results from Find operation.
