Calculation Other Inputs
The Other tab on the Calculation Screen allows users to enter additional values used by plan formulas and defined contribution calculations. The values entered on this tab apply to the current calculation. If the calculation inputs are stored in Calculation History, these values are stored with the other calculation inputs.
User rates
  • Rate 1, Rate 2, and Rate 3: numeric values available to plan formulas through the USERRATE1, USERRATE2, and USERRATE3 operands. The labels may be replaced with plan-specific wording to describe the value expected by the plan. Enter a percentage as a decimal when required by the applicable formula (for example, enter 0.06 for 6%).
User values
  • Value 1 through Value 10: additional user-entered values available to plan formulas through the USERVALUE1, USERVALUE2, and corresponding USERVALUE operands. Depending on the plan design, a user value may represent an amount, number, date, or other numeric input. The labels may be replaced with plan-specific wording to identify the value expected by the plan.
  • Portal Button: displays the descriptions configured for the corresponding portal calculation user rates and user values. Items that are not configured for portal calculations are shown as N/A.
Defined contribution
  • Employee Contribution Rate: the participant contribution rate to use for defined contribution calculations. Enter the rate as a decimal (for example, enter 0.06 for 6%).
  • Asset Rate of Return: the annual investment return assumption to use when projecting defined contribution amounts. Enter the rate as a decimal (for example, enter 0.07 for 7%).
  • DC Account Balance: the participant's defined contribution account balance to use in the calculation.
  • As of Date: the date on which the DC Account Balance was measured. When an account balance is entered, make sure the corresponding date is also correct.
Formula references
User rates and user values can be referenced directly with the USERRATE and USERVALUE operands. Defined contribution inputs can also be retrieved with the GETCALCINPUT function.
