The Calculation Screen is used to specify the parameters to use when running a benefit calculation for a Person.
- Item to Calculate: Selects the plan item to calculate. DB Precision also calculates all supporting items needed to determine its result.
- Calculation Dates: Specifies the dates used in the calculation. For each date, choose Fixed Date to enter a date, Fixed Age to enter an age, Derived Date to select a date, or Formula Derived Item to select an item that determines the date.
- Calculation Date: The date as of which calculation components, such as the accrued benefit, are measured.
- Annuity Commencement Date: The date on which annuity payments begin.
- Small Benefit Cash-out Date: The date on which a small benefit cash-out, if any, is paid. Select Equal to ACD to use the Annuity Commencement Date.
- Account Determination Date: The date as of which account amounts, such as contributions or a cash balance, are determined. Select N/A when this date does not apply.
Note: You can change the name displayed for each calculation date using Calculation/Export Date Wording Override on the Plan Document screen. Leave a field blank to keep its standard name.
- Beneficiary: Selects the beneficiary to use for the calculation.
- Reduce benefits shown by employee-paid benefit: Select this option for a contributory plan when the benefits shown should be net of the employee-paid benefit.
- Store inputs in Calculation History: Stores all calculation inputs, including assumptions and values entered on the Other tab, so they can be retrieved later. Use View in the Calculation History area to review previously stored inputs.
